Knowledge Portal for Pelvic Floor Dysfunction
How to Use the Knowledge Portal
The Knowledge Portal is filled with information on the different conditions that fall under the umbrella term “Pelvic Floor Dysfunction” (PFD). This information should help to increase your understanding of PFD which will empower you or someone you know. One in three women will suffer some form of PFD in her lifetime. By sharing this information, we are hoping to help women, not only through the empowerment that comes with knowledge, but also through the solidarity that comes with knowing that you are not alone.
We have structured the information by creating a page explaining pelvic floor dysfunction, the pelvic floor muscles and the impact of hypertonicity and hypertonicity. This should give you a foundational understanding before you delve into the different symptoms that are caused by a dysfunctional pelvic floor. Pages have been created for each of the main symtpoms of pelvic floor dysfunction: Pelvic Pain, Urinary Incontinence, Pelvic Organ Prolapse and Sexual Dysfunction. Under each of these pages, you will find additional pages that break these symptoms down further as well as detailing conservative (non-surgical) and invasive (surgical) treatments for these symptoms.
If you don’t find what you are looking for, we have added a search bar at the bottom of each page to help you. You can also jump over to our community (which will open in a separate tab) where you can ask questions and connect with others who are dealing with pelvic floor dysfunction.
A Note From the Creator of This Site…
I created this site for the good of many. It has taken a great many hours, a great many of my brain cells and just about every creative juice in my body! I host on a premium server to ensure a good user experience and have pay from my own pocket for hosting, themes, plugins, stock images and features needed to ensure high quality and to keep the site running.
It was difficult to find anatomical images that showed what I needed to illustrate so I rubbed my brain cells together and learned to create my own images. These images demonstrate the conditions and treatments relating to pelvic floor dysfunction. I am not an artist so they may seem a little amateurish. Regardless, I feel that they are adequate for the purpose of illustration. Please do not use any images or content from this site without prior permission and make sure to link back to The Flower Empowered once permission has been received.
Thank you for joining and I hope the information helps on your journey to empower your flower!
